For our full-time watchmaking courses a GCSE (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science at grade 4/C or above is a mandatory requirement to apply for a place at the school. No prior experience is required.
All successful watchmaking applicants are required to sit an assessment before they are accepted onto our courses. The assessment process is over one day and held in Manchester at the school. This assessment consists of an interview, theory test (numerical and problem solving) and a dexterity test. Course places are then offered to the candidates achieving the highest grades on the assessment day, with a maximum of eight places available on each course per session.
The British School of Watchmaking does not hold the necessary license to accept international students onto our full-time watchmaking courses. This however does not prevent you from studying a WOSTEP course, we recommend all international watchmaking students contact WOSTEP directly for more information on other WOSTEP partnership schools or studying in Switzerland (Email: wostep@wostep.ch).
For our polishing courses there are no entry requirements, however, these courses are intended primarily for professionals or those wishing to work in the watch industry.
