The British School of Watchmaking, due to demand from Independent students, is pleased to announce that it is now making available one place on its’ 2009/10 W.O.S.T.E.P Watchmaking course, to start this September. This place will be made available to an Independent student on a fee paying basis. Total fees for the 2 year, 3,200 hour course will be £17,000, which will also include the purchase of the Watchmakers Tool kit. A full description of the course can be found at www.wostep.ch.

Prospective students will receive micro-mechanical training and learn to manufacture hand tools, do practical work at the bench and be able to repair all types of Swiss watches including Chronographs, Automatic and Quartz timepieces. They will create a WOSTEP school watch from a blank movement, as well as gain work experience in the Swiss watch industry and visit some of the major Watch manufacturing facilities.

Upon qualification, students can expect to join one of the many Swiss watch companies, and look forward to a progressive, enriching and long term career in a fascinating and enjoyable industry.

Interested students should apply in writing, via the BSoW website here, enclosing their full CV, and outlining their reasons and motivation for wishing to apply. Your application will be reviewed by the Director of Education for the school, after which a decision will be made and advised back to you by June 30th 2009.
